Changelog

Release notes.

TessDrive is in active development, delivered as regular over-the-air updates. Here's what's shipped recently — every device stays current automatically.

July 16, 2026 v2026.07.15

Safer, self-healing updates

  • Crash-safe updates. If power is cut in the middle of an update, TessDrive automatically restores the previous version on the next start — you're never left half-updated.
  • Minimal restarts. Most updates now apply in place. A restart is only ever suggested when genuinely required — and it applies on its own the next time you start the car.
  • Version history on the device. A new What's New screen in Settings shows exactly what each update changed.
  • Self-healing Wi-Fi. The in-car access point now detects and recovers connection problems on its own, with no manual power-cycle.

Legal, licenses & transparency

  • First-run terms. A clear, one-time terms screen during setup.
  • On-device legal. Open-source license attributions and a GPLv2 kernel-source written offer, readable right on the device.
  • Build identifier in Settings. A device build ID you can quote for support or a source-code request.

Premium Settings, update channels & a trusted connection

  • Redesigned Settings. A premium control panel with a sticky header, so the exit control is always within reach.
  • Recents dock. Your most recently used apps, one tap away, in a 3, 4, or 5-up layout.
  • Update channels. Stay on Stable, or opt into Beta for early access to new features — and switch back anytime.
  • Browser-trusted HTTPS. A genuine secure connection to the device, with no browser security warnings and no manual "trust this device" steps.
  • In-app Help. A full, illustrated usage guide built into Settings.
  • Day/Night & clock options. A Day/Night display mode, plus 12/24-hour and show-seconds clock controls.
  • One-tap reboot & refreshed branding. A quick reboot control with confirmation, and the new TessDrive look.

Updates arrive automatically over the air. On your device, open Settings → What's New for the full version history — or get in touch with questions.
